What is a Partner Church?
- A Partner Church should agree with the BASOM Statement of Faith.
- A Partner Church should have at least one qualified Ministry Mentor who will take point leadership of the Pastoral Resident(s).
- The Partner Church’s Ministry Mentor will meet with their resident(s) one on one at least every other week for ministry coaching, evaluation, and development.
- A Partner Church will commit to having all residents participate in all learning modules hosted by BASOM.
- The main purpose of the BASOM Pastoral Residency program is to train and equip each resident rather than benefit the Partner Church.
- A Partner Church’s residents should be employed as part-time employees.
- Each Partner Church should employ all residents in accordance with the Fair Labor Standard Act and within compliance of any local jurisdiction labor laws.
- Materials for the resident’s coursework (books, access to online curriculum, etc.) will be covered by BASOM through the partner church annual fee. Any materials required within the residents mentored ministry will be covered by the Partner Church.
- If applicable, both the Residency Director and Partner Church Ministry Mentor will advocate for job placement within Partner Church or through personal networks once the program is completed.
Partner Churches:
3 Crosses is a church where everything they do is about LIFE TRANSFORMATION THROUGH FOLLOWING CHRIST. This transformation happens as Jesus draws lost people to himself, saves them through His Gospel, and grows them into his image. As a church, 3Crosses finds creative ways to reach people with the Gospel, building relationships with friends, family, and neighbors. They preach and study God’s Word. They share meals, friendship, and prayers with the homeless in their community. They partner with organizations that are introducing lost people to Jesus.
Central Peninsula Church is a community in the heart of Silicon Valley that exists to make and mature more followers of Christ. We are a non-denominational church, dependent on the Word of God, gathering for weekly worship at locations in Foster City and Redwood City. For more than 50 years, we have been cultivating authentic relationships and welcoming people from all backgrounds into our community of faith, where we seek to support one another and compassionately engage the world around us as we live life side-by-side. Through both large and small group gatherings, community outreach, and a variety of ministries, we seek to grow in community and faith with one another, and ultimately, glorify God.
You may not be able to tell from the outside, but New North Church is actually part of a lineage of Bay Area churches that dates all the way back to the 1960’s. It all started with a simple idea: carry out a calling to make and mature followers of Jesus Christ through a community of believers. Prior to the current name, the church was known as the North Campus of Central Peninsula Church (or CPC for short). The main campus of CPC is based in Foster City and after 40 years of establishment, commissioned a group of 100 committed people to start a new campus in Millbrae, CA.
The church launched at the auditorium of Mills High school on January 11th, 2009. After two years there, CPC North was ready for its next move and landed at the current location, the former Crestmoor High School at 300 Piedmont Avenue, San Bruno.
On July 1st, 2017, CPC North officially re-launched as an independent church body known as New North Church. However, in spite of the name change, the church remains deeply connected to Central Peninsula Church through shared core values and a shared history that will never be lost.
Redeemer’s mission is to help people find their identity and purpose in Jesus. Redeemer describes their mission like this: “You are a deeply loved child of God, redeemed by Jesus, and empowered to love other people the way Jesus loves you. God has a purpose for you, to live and share his selfless, sacrificial love in your everyday life, with all people. In short, YOU ARE LOVED AND SENT.” Redeemer Redwood City is affiliated with the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS), a network of 6,000 churches, 2,000 elementary high schools and preschools, 10 universities, and 2 seminaries.
In 2018, Dwell Christian Church and Peninsula Bible Church Willow Glen joined together to form Willow Glen Bible Church. Their greatest desires are to: 1) Equip followers of Jesus for spiritual growth, service to the Christian community, and service to the people of San Jose. 2) Preach the Scriptures in a way that attends to each passage with care, seeking to let the text speak through the Holy Spirit to God’s people in the 21st century. 3) Carefully and clearly present and live out the Gospel – the reality that God loves us and has provided a way to restored relationship with him solely through the ministry, death, and resurrection of Jesus. 4) Care for the church and the community through service. All of God’s people are gifted and called to use that gifting. 5) Foster multi-generational connection in all facets of church life together.
